I'm a systems engineer (trained in Mech E and Ops Research) and a big fan of efficiency! <br /><br />This post reminded me of the argument against widening roads: that it will embolden the enemy. Oops, I mean that it will just make more people drive, rather than the desired effect of decreasing commute times.
